Listing your home on SwapSpace is the first step to unlocking more personal, meaningful and affordable travel. Whether you are a homeowner or a renter, the process is straightforward and designed to help you present your home in the best possible way.
This guide walks you through the entire process so you always know what to expect.
Apply to join the community
SwapSpace is a members-only community, which means everyone starts by submitting a short application. This helps us understand your home, your travel style and whether your space is a good fit for our community.
Once your application is reviewed and accepted, you will receive access to the platform where you can begin listing your home.
Start your listing
From the home page, click the List your home button. This takes you directly to the home listing form where you will enter the details that will appear in your public listing.
You will be asked for:
- Type of home (apartment, house, studio)
- Your home address
- Key details about your space that travellers would want to know
Try to be clear and honest. The goal is not perfection but giving other members a true sense of what it feels like to stay in your home.
Upload at least 5 photos
Photos are the most important part of any listing, so we ask every member to upload at least 5 photos taken in landscape orientation.
Please include:
- Your living room
- Your bedroom
- Your kitchen
- Any other spaces that show your home’s charm or personality
Your home does not need to be perfectly tidy. Real homes feel welcoming, lived in and personal. That is exactly what the community wants to see.
Add a title, description and availability
Now you will craft the text that introduces your home to others.
- Title: Keep it simple and inviting.
- Description: Describe what makes your home enjoyable to live in. Think about the atmosphere, the neighbourhood, the light, or your favourite features.
After this, set your availability so members know when your home is open for swaps. You can choose specific dates or keep it flexible with broader options.
Complete identity verification
Once your home is listed, the final step is to complete a quick identity check. Every member on SwapSpace must be verified. This helps us ensure that every listing is real, every profile belongs to a real person, and the entire community remains safe and trustworthy.
You can complete your verification in the Account section of your profile. Once verified, you will receive a verified badge, and you will see this badge on other verified members across the platform.
This simple step gives everyone confidence when arranging their first swap.
